Philosophy

About God

God has given us His Word, the Bible, the record of God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. II Timothy 3:16
God wishes to bring His people into a saving relationship with Himself and lead them to Christian maturity. John 20:31, John 5:9-12.
There is one living and true God, perfect in wisdom, sovereignty, holiness, justice, mercy and love. Timothy 1:17, Psalm 86:15 Deuteronomy 32:3-4.
God exists eternally in three coequal persons who act together in creation, providence and redemption. Genesis 1:26; I Peter 1:2, Hebrews 1:1-3

About Man

Man was created in God’s own image to have fellowship with Him and to be a steward over His creation. Genesis 1:26-28
Man is born with a sinful nature and needs to be reconciled to God. Romans 3:9-18,23.
Man is personally responsible to God for his thoughts, actions and beliefs and has the right to approach Him directly through Jesus Christ, the only mediator. Romans 14:12; I Timothy 2:5

About Education

Education must point men to God and to His redeeming power and make clear the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Word of God must be fully integrated into the curriculum by teachers who sense a call from God and model faithfulness and dependence on Christ. Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 3:21-28 , Colossians 3:12-17
Education in God’s truth is primarily the responsibility of the parent. Parents need to take an active part in the education process and support the school and its policies. Deuteronomy 4:9, Proverbs 22:6, Deuteronomy 6:11-19.
Education should reinforce and support the church in its challenge to bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 10:23-25, Acts 2:42
Education should address the total scope of man’s being, i.e. spiritual, intellectual, social and physical. Luke 2:40,52; Proverbs 2:26

With God and His Word as the focus,
Christian education must address man’s:

Spiritual Being

By teaching the Bible as the inspired Word of God and leading each student to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. John 17:17, II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21

Intellectual Being

By assisting men to reach their full potential and training them in reasoning, logic and righteousness. Romans 12:1-2, Mark 12:28-34.

Social Being

By encouraging a commitment and devotion to family and church and promoting positive citizenship, self-responsibility and a sound work ethic. Hebrews 10:23-25, 13:17; Ephesians 6:1-4, Romans 13:1-7.

Physical Being

By instilling good health habits, physical discipline and the wise use of his body as the temple of the Holy Spirit. I Timothy 4:6-11, I Corinthians 6:12
